Soup Social Events

Sheffield Soup #5 Pitchers with Soup Jam and Founder Pennie Raven

Hi there!  Welcome to Sheffield Soup.

Sheffield Soup is run by a collaboration of volunteer business, freelancers and individuals.  The Sheffield Soup Social events are a way of bringing everyone together whilst raising funds for our operating costs which in the main are funded by the volunteer advisory team.

Why come?

Apart from showing your support (which you are all AMAZING at) we record our chat show with live audience, we have table top exercises for you to participate in to help make Soup even better, and share with you real stories of shortlist judges, applicants, winners, pitchers and volunteers.

If you are thinking of applying to pitch, attending a Social is a good start, as you will meet judges and voters, and be able to take on board any advice or feedback.

If you are interested in tapping into the Sheffield Soup Network, you will find the friendliness an openness to meet new people refreshing, motivating and inspiring.

If you love music, local musicians jam with our house band Soup Jam -on the 28th September it’s none other than Big Shaun from Everley Pregnant Brothers! (I know! How lucky are we!)

Then of course there is the mouth-wateringly good soup from Silversmiths Restaurant, along with any goodies local business brings as bribes for the audience.  (If you’d like to advertise live to the audience – you can bribe them with delicious treats!

How is it different to pitch night?

On pitch night, shortlisted applicants live pitch to an audience who they are trying to persuade to vote for them, so they can take home all the door money.  We needed to increase the number of applications, and a few members of the audience suggested we should run a more social / networking / getting together / discover more about night… so we did!

Come along, make new friends, connections and fall even deeper in love with your city.
